An Avalanche of FLorals: The Bal Harbour Shops Brings Fleurs De Villes for a Pop-Up Installation

The Bal Harbour Shops is known as the highest-grossing shopping mall per square foot in America. The collection of designer boutiques and department stores and restaurants in a tropical garden setting attracts everyone from visiting socialites to hip hop stars to residents of the nearby tony enclave of Bal Harbour Village. But despite the high-rollers, the upscale dining and shopping and the eye-popping jewelry boutiques, the experience at “the Shops” still remains refreshingly intimate, with lushly-landscaped koi ponds providing a numinous distraction from the fancy things on display. The Shops has also been a beacon of culture and visual artistry organizing events and festivals that consistently delight and pay homage to the mall’s opulent identity.

And this latest installation fits within this tradition. From now until March 28th the Shops is awash in florals, featuring life-sized flower design fashion mannequins, Parisian-inspired flower market, floral swings, flower demos, flower carts and more.

Designed to resemble an elevated gallery-like setting, the exhibition of 16 fresh floral mannequins, lush doorways and more is in support of Breast Cancer Research Foundation and led by Fleurs de Villes, a brand that works with top local florists, growers and nurseries to create displays of art.

The floral “trail” consists of 16 fresh larger-than-life mannequins by highly coveted brands including Neiman Marcus, Chopard, De Beers Jewellers, Lalique, David Yurman, Lafayette 148 New York and Diptyque, along with exclusive wine partner Château D’Esclans and BCRF.

Ancillary flower installations like abundantly lush doorways are also spread throughout the Shops.

On the 3rd floor of the shops you’ll find a Jardins area that will feature programming like demos, workshops, virtual tours, Parisian Flower Market and cocktail tastings.
